In Japanese mythology, Izanagi-no-Mikoto, together with Izanami-no-Mikoto,
is said to have created the land.

Standing upon the Floating Bridge of Heaven,
he stirred the sea with a jeweled spear,
and the droplets that fell formed Onogoro Island.

Inspired by this myth, the ring features a droplet motif on one side,
and on the other, a sakaki plant—long regarded as a sacred symbol in Japan.

A presence that stands at the beginning.
A ring to quietly mark the passage of time.

Story of Izanaki

Izanaki no Mikoto

Izanaki no Mikoto and Izanami no Mikoto landed on the island of Onogoro, where they married and intercoursed, successively giving birth to the gods who created the land of Japan and all the deities (In Shintoism, it is believed that a god exists for everything).

Later, he went to Land of Hades in pursuit of Izanami no Mikoto, who had died as a result of wounds she had sustained in giving birth to the god of fire (Honokagutsuchi no kami). When he returned from Hades, the gods born of Izanaki no Mikoto became Amaterasu Omikami, Tsukuyomi no Mikoto, and Susanoo no Mikoto, known as the  "三貴子 Three noble children" (it called “Mihashira no Uzunomiko or “Sankishi”).

Because of these stories, Izanaki no Mikoto is enshrined in many shrines as the god of land creation and the ancestral god of life. And because of the episode with Izanami no mikoto, Izanagi is also widely worshipped as the god of marital bliss and marriage.

Gem stones

Natural Gemstones

Like hand carving, the use of natural gemstones expresses the beauty found in imperfection.

In Japan’s ancient nature-based beliefs, including Shinto traditions, stones and sacred rocks have long been objects of reverence. This sense of respect toward natural stones is also reflected in our creations as part of Japanese cultural heritage.

TEGAMI Products

Jewelry that brings a sense of Japanese aesthetics into modern style.

To preserve the warmth and texture of handcraftsmanship, each jewelry master model is carved by hand.

In traditional Japanese ceramics and tea ware, subtle irregularities and natural variations are often regarded as beauty itself. Rather than distant perfection, we value the sense of warmth and familiarity found in imperfection.

We deeply value this aesthetic philosophy that has long been cherished in Japan.
