In Japanese mythology, Amaterasu Ōmikami is the sun deity,
a presence that illuminates all things.

In this piece, the sun is represented by a ruby,
while its radiating light is expressed through aquamarine.

Drawing from the myth in which she cultivated rice in Takamagahara
and entrusted rice ears to Ninigi-no-Mikoto,
the ring features rising clouds at the top
and openwork rice motifs along its sides.

A presence that brings light and nourishment.
A ring that quietly illuminates the world.

Story of Amaterasu

Amaterasu Omikami

Amaterasu Omikami is a deity who appeared when Izanagi no Mikoto rinsed his left eye to wash away the impurities upon his return from the Land of Hades. It is said that Tsukuyomi no Mikoto appeared from his right eye and Susanoo no Mikoto from his nose.
These three gods are considered to be exceptionally noble and are called the "三貴子 Three noble children" (it called “Mihashira no Uzunomiko or “Sankishi”).

Worldwide, most sun gods are male deities, but Amaterasu is considered a sun goddess.
She was also given the high heavenly realm of Takamagahara, where the gods reside, and became the presiding deity here.
This makes Amaterasu the most special of the All the deities who live in Japan, and it is said that her presence is the reason Japan came to be known as "Land of the Rising Sun”.

Amaterasu is enshrined in the Inner Shrine of Ise Jingu, and is deeply believed in by many shrines and people as the general deity of all Japanese.

Gem stones

Natural Gemstones

Like hand carving, the use of natural gemstones expresses the beauty found in imperfection.

In Japan’s ancient nature-based beliefs, including Shinto traditions, stones and sacred rocks have long been objects of reverence. This sense of respect toward natural stones is also reflected in our creations as part of Japanese cultural heritage.

TEGAMI Products

Jewelry that brings a sense of Japanese aesthetics into modern style.

To preserve the warmth and texture of handcraftsmanship, each jewelry master model is carved by hand.

In traditional Japanese ceramics and tea ware, subtle irregularities and natural variations are often regarded as beauty itself. Rather than distant perfection, we value the sense of warmth and familiarity found in imperfection.

We deeply value this aesthetic philosophy that has long been cherished in Japan.
