In the Kojiki, Japan's oldest chronicle, the wisteria is portrayed as a flower that brings hearts together.

Since ancient times, wisteria has also been revered as an auspicious plant associated with longevity and vitality. Its gracefully climbing vines came to symbolize enduring life, while its strength was believed to ward off misfortune and negative energies.

Inspired by these timeless beliefs, TEGAMI transforms the elegant form of the wisteria into a bracelet that rests gently upon the wrist.

May it nurture meaningful connections, protect you from harm, and accompany you through each day with quiet strength.

A piece of jewelry created with that heartfelt wish.

Story of Wisteria Fuji

The Kojiki, Japan’s oldest surviving historical record, contains a tale in which wisteria plays an important role.
In the section concerning Emperor Ōjin appears Izushi Otome-no-Kami, a goddess whom many deities wished to marry, yet none had succeeded in winning her hand.

Two brothers, Akiyama no Shitabi Otoko and Haruyama no Kasumi Otoko, made a wager over who could marry her. With the help of his mother, the younger brother, Haruyama no Kasumi Otoko, set out to meet Izushi Otome-no-Kami and eventually succeeded in marrying her.
In the story, his mother used wisteria vines to prepare garments, a bow, arrows, and other items for her son. These objects made from wisteria played an important role in Haruyama no Kasumi Otoko’s journey to meet Izushi Otome-no-Kami.

The Kojiki tells that Haruyama no Kasumi Otoko and Izushi Otome-no-Kami were united in marriage and later had a child together.

Native to Japan, Japanese wisteria is a climbing plant belonging to the legume family, Fabaceae. Its scientific name is Wisteria floribunda.

Gem stones

Natural Gemstones

Like hand carving, the use of natural gemstones expresses the beauty found in imperfection.

In Japan’s ancient nature-based beliefs, including Shinto traditions, stones and sacred rocks have long been objects of reverence. This sense of respect toward natural stones is also reflected in our creations as part of Japanese cultural heritage.

TEGAMI Products

Jewelry that brings a sense of Japanese aesthetics into modern style.

To preserve the warmth and texture of handcraftsmanship, each jewelry master model is carved by hand.

In traditional Japanese ceramics and tea ware, subtle irregularities and natural variations are often regarded as beauty itself. Rather than distant perfection, we value the sense of warmth and familiarity found in imperfection.

We deeply value this aesthetic philosophy that has long been cherished in Japan.
